What If the ACC Was Not Here

What if the ACC was not here,

When Truth trembled in fear, stripped of pride and honour,

Eclipsed by moneyed falsehood and arrogance;

When Justice whispered but had no voice,

Silenced by brown envelopes and contracts,

And Greed became the nation’s vocation?

Greed, like an unseen Serpent, glided into man’s heart,

And made his eyes rove for gain,

Then salaciously wiped his oily fingers

On a tongue steeped in spoiled sweetness.

His heart replete with pride, desires, and greed;

His garage overflowing with Lamborghinis and Rolls-Royces;

Yet his soul empty and cold —

Like the cellar of an abandoned house.

Vainglory!

What if no torch was lit

To chase the shadows bit by bit?

Would hope still dare to rise

Beneath deceitful skies?

But the Integrity House stood — firm, fearless, prominent like the peninsula mountains,

With hearts of steel — the chosen Lead to heal the State.

Through trials, threats, and whispered lies,

She kept the nation’s honour high.

Now 25 years, the story told, the record open and readable —

Of courage born from hearts of gold.

If She was not here, what would have remained of this lush land?

A stillborn dream? — Yet we broke the chains of giddy greed

With the trumpet of national righteousness.

So here we stand,

Guarded by humble pride,

Emboldened by the fading shadow of cruel greed.

Thank God — the ACC was here.
