Today 22nd December, 2021 brings yet another honor to the Director of Public Education and External Outreach Department and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in general, when Mr. Patrick Sandi was recognized for his enduring support to the fight against corruption in Sierra Leone by the Diaspora Focus National Development Awards.
Presenting the Award at the office of the Director, the International Coordinator for Diaspora Focus Dr. Emmanuel Stafford reiterating the commitment of Director Sandi in the fight against corruption said “The way you disseminate the information about corruption and corrupt practices, the way you are selling the image of the institution at the same time talking to Sierra Leoneans to avoid corrupt practices is perfect, and you have been doing it exceptionally well”. He furthered that, because of these skills Mr. Sandi possesses, the nation nominated and approved him and was vetted by the Nomination Committee for onward transmission to the team in UK for the final decision.
This category was highly competitive as there were over 120 competitors but Director Sandi emerged as the best.
Accepting the Award, Mr. Sandi expressed his gratitude for such a recognition and went further to dedicate the award to staff of his Department and the entire Commission, noting the immense support from the leadership of the Commission. He went on to say that ”This kind of recognition do not make us complacent but rather it challenges us to do more for the benefit of Sierra Leone”.
Director Sandi concluded by thanking the entire team at the Department for their continued and unrelenting support.
