ACC COMMISSIONER FRANCIS BEN KAIFALA ESQ. TO DELIVER KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT SIERRA LEONE GRAMMAR SCHOOL’S 180th ANNIVERSARY PRIZE-GIVING CEREMONY

 The Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Francis Ben Kaifala Esq., will serve as the keynote speaker at the 180th Anniversary Prize-Giving Ceremony of the Sierra Leone Grammar School on Thursday, 20th March 2025, at the school’s grounds in Murray Town.

An outstanding alumnus who maintained the First position throughout his school days and ranked among the top three nationally in the WASSCE, Commissioner Kaifala will use the occasion to inspire pupils on the importance of academic excellence, resilience, and ethical leadership.

A Valedictorian of Fourah Bay College, a Star Pupil of the Sierra Leone Law School, and a holder of three LL.M degrees from Queen Mary University of London, the University of Texas, and Harvard University, Kaifala is widely regarded as one of Sierra Leone’s most accomplished legal minds and public servants.

As Commissioner of the ACC, he is the youngest and longest-serving in history, leading groundbreaking reforms that have significantly improved Sierra Leone’s standing in global anti-corruption rankings. He has served in several high-profile international roles, including:

Immediate Past President of the Network of Anti-Corruption Institutions in West Africa (NACIWA)

Former Board Member of the African Union Advisory Board on Corruption

West African Representative on the Executive Committees of both AAACA and the Commonwealth Anti-Corruption Agencies

A Fulbright, Obama Africa, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu Fellow, he has received numerous prestigious accolades, including:

Under his tenure, Sierra Leone’s MCC score rose from 49 failing percent to consistently above 70 percent for seven consecutive years, with global institutions like Transparency International, Afrobarometer, and the Mo Ibrahim Index recognizing the country’s progress. His legal reforms have strengthened anti-corruption laws, led to the recovery of over 60 billion Leones, and achieved over 95% compliance rate in digitalized asset declaration.
