The Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Francis Ben Kaifala ESQ., was on Sunday 29th December 2019, awarded as “Public Servant of the Year 2019” at the prestigious National Achievement Awards organized by the All Works of Life (AWOL).
AWOL is Sierra Leone’s most respected awarding body; founded in 2001 by a body of young Sierra Leoneans from various backgrounds, to recognize Sierra Leoneans from all walks of life that has excelled in their different vocations.
After receiving the award, the country's youngest ever head of the Anti-Corruption Commission took to social media to post the following:
"Last night at the Bintumani Conference Centre, I was awarded "Public Servant of the Year 2019" by Sierra Leone's most respected Awarding body - AWOL, at the National Achievement Awards 2019. This prestigious Award in my budding career in Public Service is dedicated to His Excellency The President of Sierra Leone for his continued Commitment and support, our amazing ACC staff for their dedication and hard work, & you the People of Sierra Leone for your Support and Love. I particularly would like to thank our wonderful Public Relations team at the ACC for their unrivaled story-telling and communication of our work & exploits throughout the year."
In what has been a flurry of awards for the Czar in 2019, the latest recognition comes as the icing on the cake. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) was also up for nomination on the same night for "Public Parastatal of the Year 2019", slightly missing out to the National Revenue Authority.
