The High Court of Sierra Leone holden in Makeni, presided over by the Honorable Justice Abubakarr Sannoh, has convicted MOHAMED KOROMA of No. 1 Thoronka Lane, Makeni, Bombali District, on one count of Academic Malpractice, contrary to Section 128 (3) of the Anti-Corruption Act of 2008 as amended by the Anti-Corruption (Amendment) Act 2019.
The Honourable Judge sentenced MOHAMED KOROMA to pay a fine of Fifty Thousand Leones (Le 50,000) or serve five (5) years imprisonment. The Court ordered that he immediately pays Twenty Thousand Leones (Le 20,000), with the remaining Thirty Thousand Leones (Le 30,000) to be paid within two years.
MOHAMED KOROMA’s conviction followed his guilty plea to ONE COUNT OF ACADEMIC MALPRACTICE, after he was caught on 18th November 2024 attempting to sit the Agricultural Science III paper of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) on behalf of one KELFALA YUSIF KOROMA, a registered candidatefor the November/December 2024 WASSCE.
