DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Mrs. Yatta Miriam Katta

Mrs. Yatta Miriam Katta is a fine HR practitioner with vast experience and knowledge in Human Resource and administrative functions.

Prior to gaining employment at the Commission, she worked as an Assistant teacher teaching Chemistry and Biology in senior secondary level for several years after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science majoring in Chemistry in 1986; and also served as an Examiner in Chemistry for the WAEC.  Because of her zest for higher and diversified education, she decided to leave the teaching field,  and in 1993, she joined the administrative and management world working with several Non-Governmental Organisations ranging from profitable, International Relief, Developmental, Emergency and Humanitarian organisations managing their administrative and Human Resource functions for over nine years. Her valuable knowledge, skills and experience gained in managing people motivated her to pursue further studies in Human Resources Management.

In 2004 she gained employment at the ACC as Human Resource Development Officer in the newly established Human Resource Unit;  being one out of two staff that opened the HR Unit in the Commission overseeing all aspects of capacity training and development and assisting in recruitment and selection and other HR functions.

In 2007 after leading the installation of the Commission’s Terms and Conditions of service and building a robust recruitment and selection policy and procedures and Human Resource information system, she was promoted to Senior Human Resource/Administrative Manager where in addition to her HR functions she assisted in revamping the administrative wing in terms of procedures and processes for the smooth operations of the Unit.

In July 2008 she was promoted to the position of Human Resource Manager where she continued to provide guidance and direction in the HR functions.  In 2018, she was appointed Deputy Director Human Resource of the Administration and Human Resource Department. Her unparalleled professionalism in the discharge of her functions  evidenced by the overall output of the Commission through the hands of determined and highly competent staff lead to her appointment as Director to head the newly established Human Resource Department, a position she currently holds.  As Director, She has worked assiduously in providing strategic guidance and leadership for all aspects of the human resources function and establishing a vision and direction for the full complement of core human capital programs, policies and services that promote efficiency and effectiveness in the workforce    Her relentless and overarching stance in ensuring strategic recruitment and selection of well qualified and competent staff and maintaining them has contributed immensely to the outstanding performance of the Commission as  a whole.  The Commission can now boast of having over two hundred competent staff all poised to lead this noble fight against corruption.

Mrs. Katta holds a Masters Degree in Human Resources Management with several International Higher Diplomas and executive training programs in Human Resource and Modern Administration. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in the Sciences majoring in Chemistry.

She is a widow blessed with two daughters.
