ACC INDICTS FORMER COMMISSIONER AND FINANCE DIRECTOR OF NACSA

The Anti-Corruption Commission, has on 3rdMay, 2019, indicted MR. ALIE BADARA MANSARAY, former Commissioner of the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA), and MR RICHARD TURAY, former Finance Director, on ONE (1) count each of Conspiracy to commit a corruption offence, contrary to Section 128 (1); and ONE (1) count each of Misappropriation of Public Funds, contrary to Section 36 (1)of the Anti-Corruption Act, No. 12 of 2008.
According to the particulars of offence, MESSRSALIE BADARA MANSARAYAND RICHARD TURAY,conspired with other unknown persons, to misappropriate the sum of Ninety-Five Thousand, Seven Hundred and Ninety-Seven US Dollars (US $ 95,797.00), and Eighty-Four Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy-Five Thousand, One Hundred and Thirty One Leones (Le 84,775,131.00), being Provident Fund, the sources of which are deductions from NaCSA staff salaries.
The two indicted persons are expected to make their first appearance at the High Court of Sierra Leone, Holden in Freetown, on 13th May, 2019.
