VICTOR R. WILLOUGHBY The Management and staff of the Anti - Corruption Commission (ACC) join the people of Sierra Leone to mourn the death of Dr. Victor R. Willoughby, one of the awardees of the 2013 National Integrity Awards of the Commission . It was terribly distressful news for all of us, and it will take a long time for u s to come to grips with this loss. Our immediate thoughts and prayers are with the Willoughby family and the people of Sierra Leone, and we offer them our condolence. Dr. Willoughby will be remembered as one of the finest medical doctors Sierra Leone has e ver produced. He was a fine gentleman with an impeccable character, dignity and honesty, and with strong moral principles that he never compromised. Because of his outstanding performance under hazardous conditions throughout the decade - long civil conflict in Sierra Leone, he received the V alour for working in Hazardous S ituation , an award given by the then United Nations Secretary General, Kofi Anan . His contributions to humanity and the sacrifices he made to treat people who were sick would be irreplaceab le. We at the Anti - Corruption Commission would continue to miss such a fine gentleman full of integrity and passion for his work as a medical doctor. We would also use this opportunity to sympathise with the family and friends of all those who have l ost their dear ones to the Ebola disease.
